National Comprehensive Cancer Network

Health Equity Report Card for Community Settings Pilot Project

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) is a not-for-profit of alliance organizations of leading cancer centers focusing on patient care, research, and education. NCCN is dedicated to improving and facilitating quality, effective, equitable, and accessible cancer care, so all patients can live better lives. The Health Equity Report Card (HERC), developed by the Elevating Cancer Equity Working Group, is a tool to advance more equitable cancer care and is intended to be used by health care organizations and other stakeholders. The report card includes 19 performance measures and equity practices across four domains:

  • Community engagement
  • Accessibility of care and social determinants or drivers of health
  • Bias in care delivery
  • Quality and comprehensive care

As part of the Alliance, the HERC is being adapted for use in community oncology settings. The HERC for Community Settings (HERC-SC) will be piloted in partnership with five community health care providers and organizations to inform scalable implementation.
